Seven of the nine wrestlers who competed last weekend qualified for the AA State Championship Tournament! The tournament will be held at the Anderson Civic Center on Friday and Saturday, February 22-23.

Friday, February 22, is the last day to order a 2018-2019 AHS yearbook. See Mr. Bannister to reserve your copy. No late orders will be accepted.
Congratulations to Jaden Calhoun on being named Student of the Week for February 19-22. Jaden, was selected by the Math Department for being an outstanding student who is focused on academic success. Way to go, Jaden!

Boys Basketball will host St. Joseph's Saturday night in the 2nd round of the AA SCHSL playoffs. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00. Tickets are $6. Come out and help us pack Moffatt Memorial Gymnasium!

An admissions counselor from The University of South Carolina will be at Abbeville High School on Tuesday, 2/19/2019, at 1:00PM to give information and answer questions. 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students may sign up, but seating is limited. Priority will be given to juniors and seniors. Sign up by Friday in the Counseling Department if you would like to attend.

The University of Southern California is hosting the Bovard Scholars Program from July 14, 2019 - August 3, 2019. This program is for high-achieving juniors in need of financial assistance for college admission. Selected applicants attend the 3-week program at no cost. See Mrs. Scott in Guidance for more info. The deadline to apply is February 15.

Congratulations to Devin Bryant on being name Student of the Week for February 11-15. One teacher described him as a "kind, funny, and very respectful young man". Another teacher stated, "He is a bright student with a great future." Way to go, Devin!
Piedmont Tech is hosting a Parent Night on Tuesday, February 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Campus. The event is designed for seniors, juniors, sophomores and parents. Come learn what PTC can offer you in programs, services, and financial aid. Food will be provided.

Boys Basketball will host Lewisville on Wednesday, February 13, at 7:00. Doors open at 6:00, and tickets are $6.00. During the playoffs, only SCHSL passes will be honored for admission. All other fans must purchase a ticket. #GoPanthers #PantherPride

Seniors: Lander University Art Day is February 23, 2019, from 12:00-5:00PM. This event is FREE to students, but you must register ASAP. Lander will be awarding 5 scholarships during the event. See Mrs. Hall for more information.

Big CONGRATS to Mrs. Adams and FBLA on their competition this past Saturday. AHS had 22 of 24 students qualify for the state FBLA competition. Among those 22 were 6 first place winners! Way to go, and good luck at the state competition!

Juniors and Seniors, prom tickets can be purchased between now and March 1. No tickets will be sold after March 1. Tickets are $45, and you must have a ticket to attend the prom. See Mrs. Sleister in the Media Center to purchase yours today!
