Today in our Media Center, a portion of a row of lights fell. The Media Center was closed today and no students or school employees were in the Media Center when the lights fell. Our Media Specialist was off campus today at a professional development training. The Media Center will remain closed until the problem has been corrected. The District is taking steps to correct the situation. Administration is aware that pictures of the lights may be posted on social media. We want to assure the students, parents, and stakeholders that the Media Center was closed and will remain closed while the District takes steps to correct the situation.
Kenneth Calliham, Admissions Counselor from Lander University, will be at Abbeville High School on Wednesday, 3/5/20, to meet with seniors who have applied to Lander. Please stop by to see him in the Conference Room of the Counseling Department to check in with him about your status or your change of plans. Any underclassmen who would like to receive information on Lander University may also stop by for a brief visit with Kenneth.
Due to potentially hazardous roads, AHS will operate on a two hour delay on Friday, February 21. Students will report to second block at 9:50.
Interested in attending the Nathan M. Wolfe Law Enforcement Cadet Academy? Registration is open to high school students of good character who are 15 to 18 years old. Deadline to apply is May 1, 2020. See Mrs. Scott in Guidance for further information.
Boys Basketball will host Blacksburg on Wednesday, February 19, at 6:00pm in Round 1 of the AA Playoffs. Tickets are $6 and only SCHSL passes will be accepted. All other fans will require a ticket for admission.
Rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who rank in the top 1/3 of their class are eligible to attend South Carolina Chamber of Commerce 36th Annual Business Week. Deadline to apply is April 30, 2020. There is a $75 application fee. See Mrs. Scott in Guidance.
