Students in Mrs. Biggerstaff’s second-grade class did an experiment to simulate how insects, birds, or bats pollinate flowers! Students were given a chenille stem and 1 piece of tissue paper to build a flower. Students pretended their fingertips were bees and powdered sugar was pollen, and they took turns pollinating their classmates’ flowers! Students then recorded their observations and discussed the importance of pollination.
